The Great Buddha steamed filled dumplings that have been sold since the end of last year have come to be sold not only at Ueno, but also at Tokyo station, and are now running in 1st place in the Tokyo souvenir ranking.
Formerly, souvenirs that included Tokyo in their names, like Tokyo Banana, normally occupied the highest ranking, although there was no particular inevitability to this.
However, since the dumplings are modeled after the real Great Buddha, there is, this time, an inevitability - namely, a story. This seems to be the reason for its success.
