Tamiya, the leading plastic model company, has put on the market a 1:12 scale model of the Ueno Great Buddha, the popularity of which has exploded.
The model is a faithfully scaled down version of the Great Buddha, which in reality is about 20ft high, leaving the height of the model at around 20inches.
The vestments, the plinth, etc. are all reproduced precisely, and the painted, finished model is a grand spectacle.
In terms of the price, the incomplete model is 20,000 yen and the painted finished model is 30,000 yen.
